May Green of the Month

When the website I write for, OnwardState.com, was named 2008's Best College Alternative Media Outlet by U.S. News and World Report, I promised to show up in a crowded lecture hall on campus as none other than Green Man. Why? Because Green Man epitomizes victory.
Sitting smack dab in the middle of a 300-plus student lecture just as it starts is Green Man. Wearing a blazer with Chuck Taylor high-tops is Green Man. And correctly answering a question about interest rates despite not knowing anything about macroeconomics is Green Man.
As I sprinted out of the classroom in triumph, a ripple of laughter made it across the room. Just as I burst out of the double doors, I heard a round of applause for the unannounced visitor. I'm sure it was a day of class that many students won't soon forget.
